Puppy Preschool Class
The recommended age to start your puppy in an appropriate class is BEFORE they are fully vaccinated. Our puppy socialization class is designed to give puppies under 4 months of age at the start of the class session a well-rounded socialization experience.
Puppies will learn focus, basic skills, socialization skills around other puppies, and more. House training, bite inhibition, confinement training, and chewing are also discussed in class.
Classes are held at Happy Tails Dog Training Center in Rapid City.

Barn Hunt Basics
This is a fun, exciting activity for most dogs! Barn hunt is the sport of finding rats hidden in tubes among bales of straw. Barn Hunt Basics is the class that introduces you and your dog to this activity.

Beginner Agility Classes
Agility is a great way to build your relationship, give your dog mental and physical exercise, and have fun! Having proper foundation skills will ensure both your dog’s safety and confidence.
There are two levels of foundation classes. Level One works on target skills, flatwork, and introduces weave pole entries, tunnels, hoops, and jumps.
Level Two introduces weaves, sequencing, and more.

Targeted Topics Classes
Sometimes we need to focus on just one behavior to teach our dog. Our targeted topics classes are designed to help with common problem behaviors by working on foundation skills first, then introducing harder skills during the subsequent weeks of class.

Barn Hunt Essential Skills
The second set of classes in barn hunt. Dogs learn to search independently and owners prepare for the Instinct and Novice classes through skill building exercises.
This class is offered at Rye Doodle Boarding and Training.

Intro to Scent Work
All dogs use their nose. This class is a great outlet for them to do it! No experience is necessary to join. Scent Work gives dogs both physical and mental exercise, builds confidence, and helps build your relationship with your dog.

Beginner Agility
Want to give your dog both mental and physical exercise? Agility is fun activity that build your relationship and challenges your dog.
There are two class levels for Beginner Agility. Level One introduces core concepts such as rear end awareness, start line stays, and flatwork. Hoops and tunnel may also introduced at this level.
Level Two builds upon the skills learned in Level One. Jumps, A frame, barrels are introduced at this level.

This is a class for students that already have foundation agility skills. Exercises that target specific skills for the dog and handler will be the focus of this class.
